EXO-Protection
This extremely cut and abrasion-resistant material protects the sidewall of various MTB tires. It is very tightly woven, light and very flexible. This means that the performance of the tires remains consistently impressively good.

EXO+ Protection
The new EXO+ carcass is based on a 60TPI carcass that is coated with abrasion-resistant rubber. There is a reinforced and rubberized EXO puncture protection layer on the tire sidewalls and a short butyl insert above the tire bead. This means that tires with EXO+ protection are built for aggressive trail riding and lighter enduro races and are particularly suitable for the higher torque and weight of E-MTBs. bt, light and very flexible. This means that the performance of the tires remains consistently impressively good.

Dual Compound
Two different rubber compounds are processed into a tread strip. We plan the properties of each compound and their arrangement according to the desired properties of the tires. Different dual compounds are used depending on the tire category, for example the dual compounds of gravel and downhill tires differ significantly.

3C MaxxTerra
The trail version of our triple compounds: It combines good rolling resistance uphill with great grip on the descent. MAXXTERRA has less rolling resistance and lasts longer than our DH compound MAXXGRIP, and more grip and traction than the XC compound 3C MAXXSPEED. It is the "golden mean" for trail riders.

Maxxis Performance Compound [MPC]
The MAXXIS Performance Compound can be found in the inexpensive mountain bike tires. However, this does not mean that it is a "cheap rubber". The MPC stands for the usual MAXXIS performance at a lower price.

Tubeless Ready (TR)
Tubeless tires have many advantages: You can ride with less air pressure. This gives you better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there is no tube, the risk of punctures is also reduced. MAXXIS TR tires are better prepared for installation with sealant than other "tubeless ready" tires. The bead of the TR tire is completely covered with a layer of rubber, just like a real UST tubeless tire. This means that tubeless installation is successful on all rims with standard dimensions after the first inflation and with little liquid. "Normal" MAXXIS MTB tires can also be installed tubeless with sealant, like tires from other manufacturers, because the carcass fabric is very dense. However, only the new MAXXIS TR models are officially approved for tubeless installation and guaranteed by MAXXIS. Tubeless installation of other models is at your own risk.
