The Checkmate SLR 8 AXS

The Checkmate SLR 8 AXS is a carbon gravel bike built for the start line and will kick up a lot of dust over long distances and bumpy roads. To deliver the performance you want on race day, the Checkmate combines a lightweight aerodynamic design with IsoSpeed technology and a new Gravel Race Geometry that lets you be ready to attack at any time without wasting your energy first. To keep the weight low, the spec is rounded out by a previous generation SRAM RED XPLR AXS 1x12 wireless drivetrain, carbon wheels and the Trek Aero RSL handlebar/stem unit.

Aero-optimized: The Checkmate is our fastest gravel bike ever, with the same new Full System Foil Aero tube profiles and the same one-piece aero handlebar/stem as the Madone Gen 8
New fast Gravel Race Geometry: Less riding around, more racing. The new Gravel Race Geometry of the Checkmate puts riders in a more aggressive and efficient riding position
New lightweight and aerodynamic one-piece handlebar/stem: The Checkmate features the same ultralight and aerodynamic one-piece carbon handlebar/stem as the Madone Gen 8. The brake levers are 3 cm narrower than the drops, allowing riders to choose between a more aerodynamic or controlled position and enjoy more ergonomic comfort in the top bar position
Space for 45 mm tires: The Checkmate is equipped with 38 mm tires as standard, but easily offers space for up to 45 mm wide gravel tires for particularly rough surfaces
